“At Lexcode, it’s more than just goals; it’s about dedication, perseverance, and love.”
As I stroll down memory lane, reminiscing about my 10-year adventure with Lexcode, I find myself immersed in a whirlwind of cherished moments and valuable experiences. From our humble beginnings to the big milestones, every step has shown the amazing spirit of this company.
My story started in a humble role as a caretaker at Lexcode’s former office at 6750 Ayala Makati. It was there that I first crossed paths with Ms. Christine, Lexcode’s esteemed country director. Little did I know that fateful encounter would pave the way for a transformative chapter in my life. Meeting the CEO, Mr. Ham, felt like destiny unfolding, sparking something inside me that would keep me going for years.
Fast forward to November 1, 2013—a date etched in my memory not just as my first official workday as an administrative assistant but also as a testament to the unexpected twists that fate often presents. Celebrating my work anniversary on All Saint’s Day has always felt kind of odd, yet it symbolizes the unconventional yet rewarding journey I’ve had with Lexcode.
Over the past decade, Lexcode wasn’t just a job to pay the bills; it’s been the backbone of my growth, both personally and professionally. The company has helped me support my family, providing stability and opportunities for us.
But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows—the annual saga of getting government permits is like running a marathon. Stress and exhaustion become unwelcome companions, yet the elation that follows the triumphant cry of “We’ve finally secured our permits!” eclipses the hardships, spreading joy throughout the Operations team.
As an administrative assistant, my responsibilities stretch far beyond the confines of traditional office duties. Every day, I’m greeted with a chorus of “Ate Ann!,” “Ma’am Ann!,” or “Ms. Ann!,” a testament to the multifaceted nature of my role. From catering to clients’ demands, coordinating deliveries, contacting suppliers, managing inventory, and dashing from one end of the office to another, to nurturing our greenery and ensuring our pantry is well-stocked, my responsibilities span a diverse spectrum aimed at ensuring the seamless functioning of our workplace. Yet, driven by my unyielding commitment and love for Lexcode, every little task becomes important.
If asked the Filipino commercial question, “Para kanino ka bumabangon? (For whom do you wake up each morning?)” I’d always reply, “For Lexcode and my family.” Because let’s face it, when you’re fueled by passion for your work and love for your family, there’s no snooze button strong enough to keep you in bed.
Over a decade, I’ve watched a parade of faces enter and exit our doors. Saying goodbye to colleagues always brings a mix of emotions, as many have become like family.
In these 10 years, I’ve been part of so many memorable events—from year-end parties, Halloween bashes, and heartwarming anniversary celebrations to adrenaline-pumping team-building trips, which are my favorite. It’s not just about planning for the company’s future; it’s about forging connections with colleagues from every corner of our organization. The moments of shared laughter and camaraderie, whether with peers or superiors, create a bond that’s truly special.
Throughout this journey, Mr. Ham’s sage guidance has been the lighthouse guiding our company through stormy seas. His boundless generosity and ever-optimistic outlook, even beyond the realm of work, serve as a beacon of inspiration for us all.
I’m eagerly poised to witness the ongoing growth and triumphs of Lexcode in the days ahead. I wholeheartedly commit to another decade of unwavering dedication, propelled by the dreams and aspirations of my children. Here’s to many more years of camaraderie and heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Ham and the Lexcode family for embracing me as one of their own.
