Project managers at Lexcode are usually given their duties and responsibilities at the start of their employment. The list includes a work scope and how to perform the job description efficiently and effectively. The more I work at Lexcode, the more I realize all the provided general introduction and training materials are only a “kickstart.”. As a newbie in the company, here are five things I didn’t know until I worked as a project manager at Lexcode.
(1) Lexcode is a company that offers translation services in Korea and the Philippines.
I remember my job description specifying that I focus on collaborating with Korean project managers, but when I got to know more about Lexcode, I realized that we serviced more than just our Korean counterparts. We have Philippine project managers that assist local and international translation clients, the eQQui team for interpretation, and the DnB team for online translation access, with programs such as Qurious and KabayanXpress. The division of services catering to different clients, made a great impression on me, as I realized that Lexcode had that “edge” against competitors.
(2) Lexcode places great importance on quality and quantity.
The phrase “quality over quantity” is applicable to every situation. In Lexcode, we not only care about the number of files we receive from clients, but we also guarantee the quality of our submissions to them. In fact, as an effective company, we have a designated team that handles quality assurance for projects, offering intensive research and editing to ensure we deliver files of the utmost quality to clients, making us a trusted company.
(3) Lexcode is communication-savvy.
As a newbie, the only goal on my mind was to pass my probationary period without any significant issues. As I learned how the company communicates, I realized that our team places equal importance on effective communication not only with our clients but also with one another. As we have two offices, the Korean and Philippines branches, most employees will eventually need to collaborate. Our team’s professionalism, understanding, and perceptiveness to ideas make every collaboration a success, which resonates with our effective communication with clients too.
(4) Lexcode imparts unexpected lessons to me in my day-to-day life.
As working professionals, we have to admit that most of the time, our work can be repetitive, albeit productive. In Lexcode, however, since we regularly talk to different clients and Korean colleagues, my experience gets to be a little different each day and somewhat “exciting.” Certain situations teach me how to be more collaborative and professional, which I may not find in other industries. It was a lesson I didn’t see coming, but I definitely appreciate it.
(5) Lexcode gives me career and leadership insights.
I think the most important thing that Lexcode has provided me with is the opportunity to improve my overall career and leadership skills. So far, as a project manager, I’ve honed active listening, technological mastery, and other skills of value in my personal and professional success.
There are still so many things that I have yet to discover as a project manager, but so far, Lexcode has helped me achieve my professional goals. I am only more determined to contribute to the company’s continued success.
